What makes Stora Blåsjön Special
Stora Blåsjön is a small and very unknown resort, and throughout the season, it is only open on special occasions, such as during a few weekends and on the popular school holidays. Renting the whole ski system for yourself or your company is also possible.
They do not have any artificial snow makers but instead rely on 100% natural snow, so a good idea is to wait until February to make sure the snow has settled and there is a sturdy base.
Stora Blåsjön also has about 600 km of prepared snowmobile tracks, and snowmobiling is probably even more popular than skiing. So, if you have ever thought of snowmobiling, this is the spot to do it!
How to get to Stora Blåsjön for Skiing
To get to Stora Blåsjön, take the train or flight to Östersund, rent a car and go from there. Still, it takes about 4 hours to get there on mostly more minor roads. It could still be worth the travel if you are looking for a unique experience and the right to brag about going to a place your friends have guaranteed not been to.
